 What's New for the 2023 Honda HR-V?

If you have been waiting for the perfect time to upgrade to a new Honda HR-V, that time has arrived. The HR-V has been a top pick among small crossover SUV shoppers for many years, and its appeal will grow for the 2023 model year with the debut of the line’s second generation. The impressive updates to the latest version of the HR-V begin on the exterior with fresh styling from bumper to bumper. Its new look boasts confident curves through the profile with a deep scoop that rolls down the hood. The grille is smaller and reshaped, and it shows off an elongated, honeycomb-like mesh. The headlights are edgy, with an orange ribbon of light underscoring a series of rounded bulbs. The rear has a thick, black bumper with rolling taillights and a liftgate spoiler. Compared to the 2022 version, the 2023 HR-V is both longer and wider.

You can expect to find some exciting changes under the hood as well. The 2023 Honda HR-V will pull 158 horsepower from its inline-four gas engine. The powertrain will be combined with a revamped rear suspension system. Rather than using the beam axle design from the 2022 version, the 2023 HR-V has an independent suspension. Additional mechanical features include active noise cancellation, hill descent control, and available all-wheel drive.

The 2023 Honda HR-V is impressively well-equipped throughout its redesigned cabin as well. Some of its many features depending on the trim include a sunroof, keyless ignition, USB ports, satellite radio, a 7-inch or 9-inch touch display screen, a wireless phone charging pad, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, an auto-dimming rear mirror, heated front seats, and leather material. Honda Sensing® safety features are standard for all trims. These include forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and more. These are combined with next-gen airbags to keep you and your passengers safer on the road. The top two trims of the 2023 Honda HR-V also add a blind-spot monitoring system.

 What's New for the 2023 Honda HR-V?

At Bristol Honda, we are pleased to introduce the next-generation HR-V to our valued customers. For 2023, the Honda HR-V debuts its second generation with brilliant updates throughout. Many of the specific features and capabilities of this subcompact crossover SUV have not yet been released to the public, but photos of its modernized façade are available. Its fresh look includes a tapered, aerodynamic profile with a long, deep scoop running down the hood. This scoop reaches toward the honeycomb-style grille, setting off the LED-enhanced headlights. The sharp styling on the HR-V’s nose is magnified by the drop-down, angled accents that trend through the side doors. With the accents’ below-the-beltline positioning, most of the side doors are smoothly curved.

Over the years, one of the many endearing traits of the Honda HR-V has been its impressive performance abilities, so you can expect the 2023 HR-V to wow you upon its release. Thus far, Honda has not released specs for the next-generation HR-V’s capabilities. Still, many people anticipate more power from its gas engine, and there’s speculation about the introduction of a new hybrid engine. How does this compare to the equipment in the 2022 HR-V? For 2022, the HR-V receives 141 horsepower from its four-cylinder, 1.8-liter gas engine across its four trim levels. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.

The 2023 Honda HR-V will undoubtedly be well-equipped throughout its trim lineup as a next-generation crossover SUV. However, the only features that Honda has confirmed thus far are the Honda Sensing® safety technologies. If the 2022 HR-V’s features are any indication, some of the other features you may find in the 2023 HR-V depending on the trim level include a moonroof, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a color touchscreen infotainment display, leather-trimmed seats, and more.
