As they often tend to fall either side of a weekend, it also gives people the opportunity to enjoy a short trip away - without having to use up any annual leave. Then, of course, there are those savvy workers that use the
bank holidays to bookend holidays, meaning they get extra time off work without having to book too many days off. As a national public holiday, the are spread across the calendar, giving workers something to look forward to throughout the year. Now, the dates of next year's bank holidays have been confirmed, which means

holidays, which can be a hassle when there are loads of people wanting to get away for a daytrip. This year, there are two bank holiday left: Monday, December 26 (Boxing Day) and Tuesday, December 27 (substitute Christmas Day). they usually are. In May, there will be three bank holidays - with the extra being due to King Charles III's coronation. This will fall on Monday, May 8. Downing Street have officially confirmed the date of the holiday, which takes place two days after the crowning at Westminster Abbey.
