Canmake marshmallow finish loose powder review

As someone who has always used heavy duty foundation powders to set my base as my skin is slightly oilier and I love a matte finish this seemed like a good lighter coverage pressed powder to try. I'm now so glad I picked this up as it performed so much better than I expected!

Canmake Marshmallow Transparent Finish Powder in Pearl Natural! This shade is pale flesh tone beige that's transparent when applied onto your face. There's a slight fine shimmer through the powder but it doesn't show up on the face. Canmake is slowly becoming one of my favorite brands because their products are not just cute-they actually deliver! I don't remember having a bad experience with the Canmake products I own. My favorite skin care items from the brand would have to be the Toning Lotion and Brightening Facial Wash (just an update, this facial wash turned my face into a shade lighter after 3 months of usage. It's sad because I lost my tan, but at least I've proven that its whitening promise is really effective!), and for makeup, it would be this: Canmake Marshmallow Finish Powder, this multitasking setting/blotting powder that's too good for its price!

More about this very good drugstore face powder from Canmake after the jump!

The puff that comes with it is pretty soft, but I find that it just grabs too much powder and I end up getting that powdery look so I use a brush instead to apply it.

In Canmake's website, there are only two shades: MO (Matte Ochre) and MB (Matte Beige Ochre). What I have is MH-which I suppose is a new shade as it is not registered in the website-and perhaps it's Matte Honey Ochre? Just guessing!

MH is a medium dark shade with a mix of yellow and olive undertones. I find that this shade fits my skin tone nicely, but I don't use it with shade- matching liquid bases because the olive undertone in this powder darkens 'em further.

The Japanese really mean what they say because this powder truly has a soft, creamy, marshmallow- like texture, albeit it's chalky. It has no scent, finish is semi- matte, and feels pretty weightless on the skin. Coverage is medium to heavy, which is pretty impressive for an affordable face powder in my opinion-it conceals micro wrinkles, light to moderate hyper pigmentation, redness, and small bumps.

One layer of Marshmallow Finish Powder

It's pretty pigmented that it can intensify the coverage of your liquid face base so if you're going to use it to set your liquid base, use sparingly. I like using this with bases that tend to fade during wear such as BB Creams and Tinted Moisturizers because one swipe is all I need to replenish coverage. I even wear this alone on top of moisturizer because I find that it can pass off as powder foundation!

TIP: Use a fluffy brush to diffuse the powder particles on the skin for an even softer, skin- like finish.

The talent of this powder is it imparts a soft finish (but not quite soft focus) despite its amazing coverage and pigmentation. Staying power is awesome because even though oil would seep by the 3rd hour, coverage still stays brilliant the whole day. The secret behind its good wear time is the silicone- coated pigments that keep the powder intact on the skin.

This powder is good for oily, oily/normal combination skin, and even dry skin because it has this semi- creamy texture. It's a better version of your average pressed powder as it has better coverage, offers tons of benefits, and to date, this is the drugstore pressed powder that has the nicest overall quality in my opinion.
