I got this product on a whim because I run out of my usual pencil and this looked new and intriguing.

I thought I could try something different for once and I’ve never tried something like this for my brows, plus one of my favourite YouTubers uses a brow liner like this and her brows look amazing, despite that, this product is a complete flop for me.

You can get it here for 13$ and I have the shade Cool Brunette.

PACKAGING

The packaging looks like an eyeliner, I like that it’s very tiny and skinny.

The brush looks like a fork which should allow you to draw hair-like stokes, but it’s quite thin and bendy so it’s quite tricky to use. If you put too much pressure the line gets too thick but if you are too gentle it won’t release any pigment.

FORMULA

The formula is quite sheer (way too sheer actually) so you don’t have to be afraid to have a sharpie effect and it’s very liquidy. Once it sets it’s there to stay and it tints the skin.

The problem I have with it that after a week is completely dry. I can’t use it anymore which is such a fail.

APPLICATION

As I said the brush is quite hard to use and the formula is too sheer to show up on my skin plus it doesn’t colour.

It swatches fine but the face is too oily and it won’t work on it.

For a second I thought it might be my fault because my brows are quite thick and full and my skin is too oily to let the pigment adhere so I tried on my mum who has super thin brows and dry skin and it didn’t work on her either.

As you can see there is no difference between the before and after.

LASTING POWER

Since it doesn’t show up on my brows I don’t know how long it lasts but the swatch on my arm was quite tricky to remove.

RATING:

  • Colour: 7/10
  • Longevity: 5/10
  • Application: 5/10
  • Packaging: 4/10
  • Effect: 2/10
  • Formula: 3/10

GRADE: F

This product is TERRIBLE. The formula is terrible and doesn’t colour anything, the applicator is hard to use and it doesn’t work plus it’s already completely dry so I’m just throwing it away. So bad.

Last year I got a little bit obsessed with my eyebrows. You may have read my post about eyebrow microblading where I finally bit the bullet and got my eyebrows professionally tattooed. Since then my eyebrows have faded a little bit and I have been looking for ways to revive that “just microbladed” look. Enter the L’Oreal brow artist micro tattoo!

Product Details

This new product is inspired by the art of microblading. Basically it helps you create a natural looking brow that looks freshly microbladed, with none of the commitment!

The way the pen is shaped allows you to mimic the hair-like strokes that you would expect from getting your eyebrows microbladed. The formula is said to last 24 hours and won’t smudge, bleed or slip off your brows.

How Do I Use It?

After applying my foundation I go to fill in my eyebrows with the pen. (I don’t put any foundation on my eyebrows and keep them clean!) To get the “microbladed look” I use the trident shaped tip to very gently draw hair like strokes along my brow line. The shape of the nib makes it extremely easy to apply and allows for maximum precision. You can use the flatter side of the nib for bolder application on places like your eyebrow tails.

I opted for the shade “brunette” but it’s available to buy in multiple shades. From “blonde” to “ebony” -meaning everyone should be able to find a shade to suit them!

Final Thoughts

I am really pleased with the results I got when using the pen. As you can see from above, I would use a slightly lighter, more precise hand to get more defined strokes which I would use to fill in the front of my eyebrows where my tattoo has faded slightly. I would then use the flat side of the nib to fill in towards the mid and ends of my eyebrows for a more blocky definition.

It was great at covering more sparse areas of my brows and they’re right when they say it doesn’t budge. It lasted all day long and I had to scrub extra hard with my cleanser at the end of the day to make sure I had got all of the makeup off! Overall a great option If you like the look of microblading but aren’t willing to make the commitment just yet! You can find them for £9.99 at Boots.
