Kansas basement and foundation repair reviews năm 2024

"Briggs Basement and Foundation Repair went above and beyond what we expected. After living in our home for three years, we all of a sudden noticed several cracks in one of the basement bedrooms. Briggs came out and repaired those quickly and thoroughly. However, a week later, after one of our major rains this summer, we discovered more cracks in another area of the basement Briggs came out within 48 hours and repaired those. They work quickly, neatly, and efficiently. I highly recommend them. They are also very pleasant to have in your home, which is important to us."

Dry basement in Kansas City does not respond to service calls on holidays or after holidays are over. Had trouble with sump pump over Christmas . Left message to call customer. No call received as of 12/27/22. Called the office reported trouble. Person reported would ask someone about the problem. No return call as of 12/28/22. Customer had to call manufacturer of sump pump to ask for help on alarms . Customer service at manufacturer was very helpful and provided a answer to what the problem was with product. If Dry Basement does not service what they sell you need to look elsewhere for service.

We do apologize for falling short of your expectations and will continue to work to do better in that area. We are certainly glad your issue was resolved with the manufacturer, and we do see that we have you scheduled for your yearly maintenance in March, if there is something we can do for you before then please let us know.

Problems with Product/Service They arrived at home to use poly foam to level my concrete patio. While doing this, one employee did not follow safety protocols which caused the foam to spray out of the tool being used and all over my house and window. They said they would clean up. They arrived to fix and basically said it was too hard and couldn't do it and left. I was told someone would be back out to finish. I had the service in April of this year. It is now the end of July and still no one has come to fix and they have stopped returning my phone calls to get this done. I just want them to fix the mess they made that is all. They started to repaint over the house, but the paint color is not the same and is very noticeable. The window, they pealed away the weather stripping and started to take apart the metal covers off the window and just quit, stating it was too hard. Now my window in no longer energy efficient and the trim is exposed to weather and insect which could do more damage as well as it not being cleaned/fixed.

Problems with Product/Service March 5, 2020 paid Dry Basment Foundation Repair roughly $6,000 to anchor wall of basement. They dug a trench in my back yard to poor in concrete and long bolts to anchor the wall. While digging broke out section of sewer pipe and it was then fixed by one of the workers who was no a plumber/pipefitter and the work was never inspected. Shortly thereafter there was evidence of water seeping into my basement on the wall they worked on. We called someone came out and said it had nothing to do with their repair even though it was on the same wall and didn't start until their repair. October 2021 water leaking into my finished basement through the ceiling was determined to be from a sewer pipe back up. Multiple plumbers came out and reported that the sewer pipe was not fixed properly and the large concrete anchor that the pipe runs through settled pulled the pipe out of proper drainage angle causing the backup. Multiple other plumbers say that the sewer repair is not to code standards. Through follow up with the city of Goddard we learned that Dry Basement never applied for the permits required for the work they did on sewer and wall so neither was ever inspected by propper departments to make sure it was done properly. We have tried to contact Dry Basement directly but they have been unreliable in calling us back and saying that their work couldn't have led to the issues were having so refusing to pay for damages. Cost of plumbers responding to inspect and repair for immediate fix was $400 Estimated cost at this point for sewer repair, drywall repair and carpet is estimated $8,500. We do know other people who have had similar issues with Dry Basmenet causing damage, doing work with no permits, doing improper work and refusing to fix damages resulting in that person not being able to occupy their house.

11/17/2021 Dry Basement, Inc has offered several times to come out and dig up the portion of sewer line by our anchor and have a licensed plumber make the repair if needed, however, that seems to be unacceptable to the homeowner. We are scheduled to be at the home to dig up our anchor for the city inspector to look at on Friday 11/19/2021. We did not do any work up next to the home and therefor would not have any responsibility for those issues stated in the complaint. The inspection reports clearly shows recommended areas needing repair to the sewer line. Per the contract between Dry Basement, Inc. and Mr. ****** Page 4 Item 5 reads: 5. Dry Basement will: Repair incidental damage to water and sewer lines caused during the installation, provided there were no pre-existing problems (i.e. deterioration or wall settlement related), and that damages are discovered during the installation process. Dry Basement will not be liable for any costs associated with damage that may occur to public utilities, tile, carpet, paneling, exterior siding, appliances, air conditioners, outside plantings, underground sprinkler systems, auxiliary gas lines for outside appliances or fixtures including gas grills and lighting.

11/22/2021 Complaint: ******** I am rejecting this response because, Yes dry Basement did offer to have a licensed plumber fix the pipe, but since that is what should have been done in the first place after their excavator destroyed the sewer pipe. Instead we got the run around about why they didn't have the permits anyway. Plumbing code for the county is the repair to the sewer pipe had to be done by a licensed plumber or pipe layer and had to meet certain materials and specifications, which it isn't even close and the guy who "fixed" it is not a certified plumber. They did come out and dig out to expose the sewer pipe which came apart when they were digging because the repair was done so poorly. The excuse was because the small town hardware store the guy went too only had short rubber coppers, not propper fittings so that's what he used. While the workers were struggling to put the fittings back together one of Dry Basements other employees even told the head guy (who is the original worker) that it wasn't going back together because the pipe section he put in is several inches too short, which the head guy ignored. Once it is back together the pipe doesn't have the propper slope which is why it's not draining proppperly. The pipe is vissibly zig zagging horizontally and vertically not lineing up because of the gaps in the rubber connectors. This is supported by photos taken when a separate local plumbing company used a camera to scope the pipe which showed the large gaps and pipes not lining up at all before the pipe was dug up again. Later that same day when a county building inspector came to inspect the engineering done since he wasn't able to when the work was done because the propper permits were not pulled, he had issues and it was clear based on the Dry Basement workers demeanor that he was not accustomed to dealing with inspections. Even the inspector thought the interaction was very odd during a phone call after the inspection. So since it's clear Dry Basement Foundation Repair does not either train there employees properly in construction materials/ construction code, or deliberately doesn't apply for the permits I do not feel there is sufficient credibility in their bussiness/work practices to have them do the repairs so another company was hired to fix the faulty repairs to my sewer pipe and I, and the other contractor believe it is Dry Basement's responsibility to cover the repair costs. ******* ******

Guarantee/Warranty Issues Dry Basement was hired by the previous owners on June 11, 2016 for "foundation repair project in which the north, east and west walls were stabilized against continuing inward rotation". The repair work cost around

30,000.00 and had a 41 year warranty that was transferable. I bought the house in 2018 and I paid to have the warranty transferred to me. Since I have been in this home, I have noticed more cracks and leaks in the basement walls, severe cracking in the walls upstairs, the outside brick is cracking and moving, the windows are moving in and doors are not closing. I called Dry Basement out 3 times. They keep telling me the basement walls are not moving. I have reached out to other well known foundation recovery companies and had assessments done. They tell me that indeed the basement walls are bowing and moving. I have reached out to Dry Basement and they have yet to make an appointment with me to rectify the situation. I have zero trust in this company at this point.

06/28/2021 To whom it may concern: After looking into our records, we have been out to look at the areas of concern and have noted that there were no warranty issues at that time, although there were signs of settlement which would not be covered under the warranty and would need more work to ddress those issues. I do show that Ms. ******** had sent in a request via our website on 6/15/2021, we did call the number on file on 6/17/2021 at 12:03pm but had to leave a message which has not been returned. We would like to schedule a meeting with her, our President, and an Engineer and will try to reach out again to schedule this appointment. Thank you ***** ***** Dry Basement, Inc.

Problems with Product/Service My basement is leaking after Dry Basement Inc repaired the foundation in Summer 2020. I have attempted to find resolution with this company for the past few weeks about the work that was done to my residency and have received ****** *******, disbelief to the pictures and videos I have sent in, and an offer to pay more for the leaking to be fixed. The company also damaged part of the driveway with their machinery when the work was done in Summer 2020. Each time I have sent pictures and asked for the damaged section of the driveway to be fixed, they have asked for more photos. Even after sending photos and having the worksite foreman take pictures (to which he acknowledged that the company’s machinery did inflict the damage), Dry Basement Inc stated that they are “unsure” of how they could have caused the damage. Each time I have called and asked for a manager, I have been given to someone who dismisses my request to fix the leaking basement or offers minimal resolution.

03/29/2021 ******* ******** and Dry Basement Inc. entered into a contract agreeing only to structurally stabilize a wall having movement. The agreement was for structural repairs only and did not include any other type of repair work. It especially and specifically did not include any waterproofing. ******* has requested we caulk a leak and was advised by multiple staff personnel that this would not be a repair we would recommend, and we were not contracted to perform. Dry Basement® has offered to have a representative meet with her to explain any solutions other than caulking, since they are not part of her contract, but she declined our offer. In order to fix the leak, since it was not covered under her contract, she would have to enter into a new contract for this unrelated, additional work. Months after the job was completed, ******* informed Dry Basement® of two scratches in her driveway. Since ******* didn’t tell us about the scratches until months after we vacated the premises, we can’t take responsibility for the scratches. No one knows who caused them or when. Nonetheless, for the sake of good customer relations, Dry Basement, Inc. offered to put a drive way sealant over the scratches. ******* has not accepted this good faith offer. We at Dry Basement® value each of the tens of thousands of great customers we have served and continue to serve every day! We have received many glowing reviews from our more than 45,000 customers. Thanks to all of you!

03/26/2021 To whom it may concern: Since Ms. ****** was the only person listed on the contract and the credit card she had used for the down payment has been closed (per our conversation with ******), our legal counsel has sent a document to ensure the person entitled to the refund is who receives the money. Once that is provided to us we will be happy to release the $1900 deposit to the person listed on such paperwork. Sincerely Dry Basement, Inc.
