Jason and the Heroes of Mount Olympus (French: Jason et les héros de l'Olympe, lit. Jason and the Heroes of Olympia) is an animated TV series produced by Saban International Paris in co-production with Fox Kids Europe and TF1. The series stars the voices of Miles Marsico, Pat Fraley, John Morris, Tifanie Christun, Scott Bullock, Frank Welker and Tom Bosley. Ownership of the series passed to Disney in 2001 when Disney acquired Fox Kids Worldwide, which also includes Saban Entertainment. Series overview[edit]Jason is a twelve-year-old with fantasies of becoming a hero just like those in the mythological battles of the Ancient World. He is in for a surprise as his dreams become a reality when he climbs to the top of Mount Olympus and fulfills an ancient prophecy, turning Jason into the “chosen one”. Jupiter, King of the Immortals, gives him the Belt of Orion which allows him to exist on Mount Olympus and gives him control of the universe. The evil Dracchus seeks the all-powerful amulet and it is up to Jason to keep the belt and save Mount Olympus! The Olympians are the 12 major Gods of the Greek pantheon. They are the most influential and powerful members of their pantheon. The Twelve Olympians possess some of the most powerful Gods that can be found in Valhalla (including Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Apollo). Due to this fact, their influence and reputation extend far beyond just their pantheon. After winning the Titanomachy Tournament, Zeus became the King of the Gods and the leader of the Greek pantheon. He, alongside twelve other Gods, would rule over the Greek pantheon. However, Adamas (the second son of Kronos) was unsatisfied with Zeus being made the leader of Heaven, despite being the youngest of Kronos' children and attempted to overthrow him. Poseidon mortally wounds Adamas for rebelling against Zeus and erases him from history, reducing the number of Olympians from 13 to 12 Adamas would be stopped and killed by Poseidon. After that, at Poseidon's request, Adamas' name was erased from history. As a result, the Thirteen Olympians became the Twelve Olympians and history was rewritten as if it was always that way. Gods' Council[]Zeus is stopped by Brunhilde shortly before being able to decree the end of Humanity As the Gods were deciding on mankind's destruction, Brunhilde took the Humans' side and suggested the start of Ragnarok. The Gods, seeing the suggestion as pointless, refused to take part in it, saying that it was a waste of time. However, Brunhilde taunted them, declaring they were "chickening out". Zeus decrees the beginning of Ragnarok as a valid reason to show Humans the power of the Gods The mere suggestion that they feared direct conflict with mortals caused such anger among the Gods that they decided to accept Brunhilde's proposition, if only to put her in her place. Due to their immense power, a lot of members from the Twelve Olympians and from the Greek pantheon in general were chosen to participate in Ragnarok as representatives of the Gods. Zeus, Poseidon and Apollo were the Olympians chosen to fight, alongside Heracles. Second Round[]Zeus kills Adam and wins the Second Round Shiva was the original representative of the Gods for the second round. However, after finding out that Adam was Humanity's representative for the second round, Zeus took his place. Zeus ended up winning the round, giving the Gods a second point, though Adam had earned his begrudging respect. Third Round[]Poseidon is killed by Kojiro Sasaki and loses the Third Round To keep up the pressure, Poseidon was the representative of the Gods for the third round. He fought against the Japanese swordsman, Kojiro Sasaki, who was known as History's Strongest Loser. Kojiro ended up winning against Poseidon, earning the first point for Humanity in Ragnarok. Seventh Round[]Hades is killed by Qin Shi Huang and loses the Seventh Round Due to Buddha's betrayal, the Gods had a missing spot for their representatives. Hades decided to take Buddha's place for the sake of getting revenge on Humanity for Poseidon's death. He fought in the seventh round against The King Where It All Began, Qin Shi Huang. In the end, Qin Shi Huang won against Hades and put Humanity in the lead over the Gods for the first time. Ninth Round[]After the Gods' victory in the eighth round tied the score again, Apollo was chosen as the Gods' representative in the ninth round. He fought against Leonidas, the strongest rebel in human history, who held a grudge against Apollo. At the end of this round, Apollo defeats and kills Leonidas giving the Gods victory in this round.
