Recently, I noticed that Sephora was carrying the brand again after removing the line from their stores for a few months. What better timing to write my full review of The Ordinary Buffet and Caffeine Solution? 🙂 The brandThe company was founded in Toronto and offers an array of skin care products that are VERY affordable. This is quite refreshing in the world of cosmetics and it definitely contributed to the rapid rise of the brand. Other aspects that contributed to their success is their neat packaging and the fact that they offer vegan and cruelty-free products. The Ordinary “Buffet”This is a “multi-technology peptide serum” and comes in a 30 ml bottle. It is one of the pricier products of the brand and costs around 15$. Its mission is to target multiple signs of ageing all at once while hydrating the skin. I cannot talk about the anti-ageing effect yet, but it does hydrate the skin nicely, plus the gel texture feels nice on the face. However, the product remains a little sticky on the skin and takes a little while to be absorbed. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCGI have one thing to confess. Never in my entire life have I ever loved a skincare product SO MUCH. Phew, now that this is off my chest, let me tell you all about this magic-in-a-bottle, life-saving product. It “reduces the appearance of eye contour pigmentation and puffiness”. I LOVE using this in the morning because its de-puffing effect is nearly magical. If you know me, you know that dark circles and puffiness are my main beauty concerns, so this gel is a life-saver! It is like a cup of strong coffee but for your under eye area. Seriously a fantastic product and I may be hooked for life. Overall, I am very happy with The Buffet and the Caffeine Solution from The Ordinary. The packaging is on point, the textures and smells are great, the price point couldn’t be better, and the products accomplish their missions. When should a caffeine solution be used in a routine?Use after cleansing, before water-based serums, anhydrous serums, oils, suspensions or creams. Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG is a water-based serum that reduces the look of puffiness and dark circles in the eye contour.
Can I use the ordinary caffeine solution all over my face?Can I use the Caffeine Solution with the Natural Moisturising Factors + HA all over the face? We recommend applying The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG on the under eyes only and The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA on the entire face.
Can you mix retinol with caffeine solution?Are there any ingredients that should not be used with products containing caffeine? “Retinoids should not be in the same product as caffeine,” notes Dr. Lancer.

If you are using a hyaluronic acid serum, apply The Ordinary Caffeine Solution after the hyaluronic acid serum.
