Karol G Super Bowl 2023

For years fans of Rihanna have witnessed how she has invested all her energy in the beauty and fashion industry with her companies, Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty; now, the superstar will return to the entertainment industry to headline the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show!

RiRi took to social media to share a captionless photo of the hand holding a football. At the same time, the National Football League posted the same image, writing, “Let’s GO.”

The Super Bowl LVII will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The big sporting event will be in partnership with Apple Music, replacing longtime sponsor Pepsi.

Rihanna turned down the invitation to headline the halftime show in 2019 to support Colin Kaepernick. “Absolutely. I couldn’t dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people,” Rihanna told Vogue magazine at the time.

The star’s upcoming show follows performances by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.

Is Rihanna releasing new music soon?

In 2020, Pharrell Williams revealed Rihanna is working on her ninth studio album. In an interview with Allure, the “Happy” singer said that RiRi is so focused on her upcoming music that it feels like she is from outer space.

“Rih is in a different place right now,” the star said. “Like, wow. She’s from a different world.” According to Williams, Rihanna might be from Venus. “I‘m willing to bet, because Venus is gaseous, that if they had a telescope that could zoom through all that s---, you’d see Rih laying there naked.”

On Sunday, the NFL announced that Rihanna will be the 2023 Super Bowl halftime performer. Rihanna also made an announcement, posting a photo of herself holding a football with no caption.

Super Bowl LVII is scheduled for Feb. 12, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. It is not yet known if Rihanna will have anyone else join her on stage. In the past, many artists have had special guests join them.

Roc Nation has a part in organizing the halftime show and is also Rihanna's management company.

Rapper Jay-Z, the head of Roc Nation, played an integral part in discovering Rihanna. After she auditioned in front of Jay-Z, he said, "I knew she would be a star."

In the NFL's announcement, they included a quote from Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter.

"Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn," he said. "A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment."

Seth Dudowsky, NFL head of music, called Rihanna a "once in a generation artist" and a "cultural force."

"Rihanna is an incredible recording artist who is a favorite for many millions of Apple Music customers around the world," said Oliver Schusser, Apple's vice president of Apple Music and Beats. "We're excited to partner with Rihanna, Roc Nation and the NFL to bring music and sports fans a momentous show — what an incredible artist for the inaugural Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show."

Apple is now the sponsor of the halftime show, replacing Pepsi, the longtime sponsor.

Since being discovered, Rihanna has won nine Grammy Awards, created her own makeup line and fashion label as well.

Rihanna's return to music has been one of the biggest events of 2022. Not only because of 'Lift me up', her theme song for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but also because of her upcoming performance at the Super Bowl 2023.

It is a comeback that comes after six years without releasing new songs and that has delighted his millions of fans around the world, including fellow singer Karol G.

The Colombian artist is one of the most popular artists on the planet today (37 million monthly listeners on Spotify), something she shares with Rihanna, who despite six years out of the industry, is still very popular today.

However, the Medelln native has not forgotten where she comes from and after RiRi's return, she wanted to leave a message of love and admiration for the woman who has always been her great inspiration.

"Rihanna, I love you! I hope one day I can say it to you in person! There is no person in the world who inspires me more than you," wrote Karol G on social media.

As all the fans of the Barbados singer know, Friday saw the release of her new song 'Lift me up' for the next Marvel Studios movie, a song that will most likely have a music video, as we have seen on Rihanna's social networks.

In an enigmatic 30-second video, Rihanna appears on a beach at sunset, in fabulous shots that are immersed with others taken from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'.

The song now has over 1.5 million views on YouTube in just seven hours.
