Mask himalaya the body shop review năm 2024

After using clay mask for the first time back when my friend offered me to try hers, I become a big fan of clay masks. I bought one tube of the same face mask for myself wanting to take some really good care of my face. But as time pass, I gave up. It was too troublesome to wait till the mask dry and washing it off takes forever.

The mask when it is half dry. Gray when it is wet, white when it is dry!

I chanced upon The Body Shop’s Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask and fell in love with it at the first try. On applying the mask, it dries up really fast (about 1 - 3 minutes, way faster than the one I’ve used before) and gives off a cooling effect on the skin which makes it extremely suitable for inflamed acnes. It helps to calm down the inflammation and tone down the redness of the acnes (experienced this myself!). I believe it's also partly because the mask helps release impurities and toxin!

*Do note that because it is quite cooling, remember to not spread the mask too close to your eyes!

Between 5-10 minutes, the mask tightens up the skin while it dries up. Actually I wasn’t expecting the mask to tighten my skin so much that I couldn’t even move my mouth. But 10 minutes passed real quick so it was time for me to wash the mask off.

Face after using the mask!

I used room temperature water to wash my face and it took slightly more effort in washing compare to a facial wash but it didn’t take long for me to wash it all off. I believe it could have been faster to wash it off with warm water (but too troublesome for me so I didn’t bother)!

To my surprise, my big pores looked smaller than they usually do! And my face really do look like it has a healthier glow in it. I have been searching high and low for a product that helps refine and shrink pores and this is definitely the one! Not exaggerating at all. The fact that it helps soothe acnes, reduce visibility of the pores and gives the face a glow definitely makes it a must have clay mask! Because I also love that it has a cooling effect on the skin.

Would certainly recommend this product to anyone especially does who struggle with inflamed pimples, because I know how painful that is too! (don’t expect it to heal your pimples completely just in 5-10 minutes.)

Gosh, it has been a hot minute since I wrote my last blog post. I honestly never thought I’d write one again, especially not for this blog, but here we are. I actually became an Independent Consultant for The Body Shop at Home recently and I thought I would re-start this blog as a way to give my in-depth reviews of all of the products I try and that I sell. First up is the iconic Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Expert Face Mask which has honestly been my go-to mask for clearing my skin. I have to admit, before lockdown I was definitely a once-a-month facial type of girl and without those my skin has been breaking out all over the place and I’ve had blackheads all over my nose and chin. The only thing (and I’m not about hyping a product if it’s really not worth it) that has helped me at all with removing these blackheads and clearing my skin has been the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. Months of bad skin and this mask cleared my issues with just two applications in a week.

The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is RRP £18 – however special discounts are available through my Facebook Group.

I personally prefer applying my face mask with the Body Shop Facial Mask Brush – I mean, it’s definitely the least messy option and it uses SO much less product, which means more for your money and that’s always the desired result, surely?! The brush has a flat head which makes it easy to apply and means it’s only product being applied to your face, no extra nasties being transferred from your hands. The Expert Facial Mask Brush is RRP £8.

The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is best applied onto a freshly washed face (personally I love to use The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Cleanser beforehand) and left for ten to fifteen minutes before removing. The invigorating face mask is inspired by Ayurvedic traditions and draws out impurities and refines the appearance of pores for a healthier, smoother looking skin and is packed full of charcoal from the Himalayan foothills and Community Trade Tea Tree Oil from Kenya. This mask is described on the Body Shop website as an ‘100% vegan tingling mask’ and on the first few applications, expect this to definitely tingle! I actually love the tingling sensation this mask gives, but it can be a shock if you aren’t expecting it. It really is as if you can feel the mask working it’s magic to remove your skins impurities.

As the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask dries over the ten-fifteen minutes, it tightens making it kind of hard to smile or make many facial movements; it’s unnerving for sure, but 100% worth it and definitely feels like you’re getting a good pamper! As applied it feels cooling before tingling and then setting and working its magic. I don’t know if this is true or not, but as it dries, I feel like it dries darker where your impurities are, as if to show you exactly what its doing (take a look for yourself if you don’t believe me). I love to apply this over my T-Zone and chin twice a week to really ensure my blackheads are kept at bay and all over my face once or twice a month for a full detox. I’m also a fan of multi-masking (which I will happily discuss further in another blog post) and have in the past used the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow mask along my ‘problem’ areas and the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask around the rest of my face to fully make the most of my pamper.

I think what I love most about this face mask is that it actually works; there are so many face masks out there on the market that claim so many things and that do absolutely nothing for your skin (believe me, I’ve tried them) but this one from the Body Shop at Home is just the icing on the cake of all face masks. The charcoal within the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is an incredible ingredient which is perfect for all skin types. It’s like the wonder ingredient of the beauty industry and something everyone should have in at least one of their skincare products (in my opinion anyway). Charcoal reduces the appearance of blackheads, prevents further acne or blemishes from forming and removes excess oil whilst its at it; all of this and yet its still great for people with sensitive skin as it’s an all-natural ingredient (although as always a patch test is recommended first if your skin is overly-sensitive, just in case). I personally use products with charcoal in over other products without due to the fact that charcoal is known for being great for removing impurities and in this Expert Face Mask, it’s bloody good at its job.

It is also important to remember not to solely use this face mask as a solution to all of your skin related problems. For me, this is one part in a multi-step skincare routine that I complete religiously daily. As I mentioned above a face mask is great once or twice a week (and you can switch these up depending on your skin issues that week), but you also don’t want to go over-doing it and strip your skin of too much. To ensure this doesn’t happen to me I have certain products I always use hand-in-hand with the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask and make sure my skin is fully nourished after a good detox. When removing this mask, due to the bitty, chunky texture that it has, I always opt for a clean flannel face cloth soaked in warm/hot water; I press this to my skin to soak the mask at first and then use circular motions to exfoliate my skin as I remove the mask. The exfoliating helps remove any last bit of mask and also with the removal of impurities. As this is quite a harsh end to a pamper (although my skin does feel incredibly after a good scrub) I make sure to use the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner to inject some moisture back into my skin and relive it instantly of any dryness that removing with just water makes. I then use the Drops of Youth Concentrate or Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil, depending on how much hydration my skin needs and then apply the Drops of Youth, Youth Cream to finish off.

The routine is one that hasn’t failed me yet and is one that I always recommend. The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is my all-time favourite for clearing my blackhead prone skin and one that I will continue repurchasing as part of my skincare routine (which I will blog about very soon!).
