Our 2023 Kia Seltos trim comparison will help you decide. 2023 Kia Seltos review: Our expert's takeThe Kia Seltos is a strong contender among affordable SUVs, taking the top spot in the most recent Cars.com comparison test of the segment. Following its 2021 debut, the Seltos received several key updates for 2022: More standard safety features were added to the base model, a new Nightfall Edition replaced the S Turbo, and most trims saw a notable price increase. The 2023 Seltos carries over with minimal changes and, this time, only a small price bump over 2022. Those features are still unavailable on the LX, however. The new driver-assist technology joins standard safety tech like automatic forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist and automatic high beams. Powertrains2021 Kia Seltos | Manufacturer image The 2023 Seltos’ two engine options carry over from the previous model. The base engine is a 146-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. A 175-hp, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission is standard on the SUV’s two highest trims, the Nightfall Edition and SX. Most Seltos models come with standard AWD, while the S offers the choice of FWD or AWD. Trims, Pricing and Release DateThe 2023 Seltos is on sale now with six available trims: LX, S FWD, S AWD, EX, Nightfall Edition and SX. Prices (including a $1,295 destination fee) are below and increase $140-$300 from 2022, depending on the trim:
The LX and S come with a standard 8-inch touchscreen; a larger 10.25-inch screen is optional for the S and standard on higher trims. Cloth seats are standard for the LX, while higher trims get either a combination of cloth and leatherette or leatherette-only upholstery. The LX, S and EX ride on 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Nightfall Edition and SX get 18-inch wheels; there’s an available matte-black finish for the Nightfall Edition. The range-topping SX adds highway driving assist, a Bose premium eight-speaker sound system, wireless charging and a flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel. The seats are very comfortable. It could use a larger capacity gas tank and a power lift gate. Show full review Love my mini Telluride!September 3, 2022 By Aldin from Chicago, IL Owns this car Admittedly, I've just purchased my '23 Seltos SX and barely put over 2,000 miles on it so I can't speak too much to its reliability but so far so good! As far as exterior and interior styling, I'm very pleased with the quality of the interior as well as the great touch points and an overall ergonomic design. I have a spinal injury and I find the seats and suspension to be very comfortable even over longer drives, and when you use the driver assist features even longer trips aren't as tiring. I am also a fan of the front of the car because the bumper has a slope which not only gives it a more distinctive look, but also helps if you need to get over a slightly bigger bump in the road without having to worry about ripping off your bumper or doing any other cosmetic damage. The transmission is also surprisingly smooth in heavy traffic considering that it's a DCT. Overall, I'm a big fan of this compact SUV(?) and I can see why it's so popular! The engine puts out plenty of HP and torque to make the car responsive and it's quick which is very important when merging onto highways or general overtaking. Paired with the aforementioned 7-speed DCT and this car is very enjoyable to drive and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a new car, especially one for the urban jungle!
