But there’s still more to come with new hotels, restaurants, and attractions on the way. It’s an exciting time for Sin City! Check out the latest things to do — and what’s coming in the months ahead. Everything old is new again, especially at the Palms, which is reviving numerous concepts. The reopening of Ghostbar, which had a brief incarnation as Apex Social Club, is a spectacular space on the 55th floor of the Palms. The panoramic views of the Strip alone are worth the price of admission. The new version of Ghostbar has renovated decor, an all-new cocktail program (with flights and bottle service available) and a revamped entertainment lineup. Dance all night to the latest DJ or come on weekends to enjoy the soul, funk and live music of Dee Miles and her “Midnight Skye” show. You’ll find comfortable seating and dance areas in the main lounge or outdoors on the patio. Awakenings Awakenings is an all new production at the Wynn’s Encore Theatre, effectively replacing Le Reve, a water-based spectacle that ceased operation during the pandemic. Gone are the synchronized swimmers and high divers. Instead, Awakenings is a tale of separated lovers, borrowing elements of Cirque and even touches of science fiction while following the main heroine on a journey that includes colorful costumes, puppetry and advanced special effects. No expense has been spared, from a high-tech sound system to create 3D-like sonics to enlisting Academy Award-winning actor Anthony Hopkins to voice the narration. Awakenings debuts November 7, 2022 with performances running 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Princess Diana: A Tribute ExhibitionBat Out of Hell - The MusicalBat Out of Hell — The Musical opens September 27, 2022, featuring the hits of Meat Loaf and songwriter/producer Jim Steinman. The award-winning stage production takes over the theater once home to the long-running Jersey Boys at the Paris casino with rock n’ roll imagery and a tale of star-crossed lovers reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. Audiences will cheer new takes on classics from the duo’s Bat Out of Hell albums, including “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” and “I’ll Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).” The PlazaMad AppleCirque du Soleil is unveiling Mad Apple as its first new Las Vegas production since the pandemic. The show, based on the nightlife and entertainment scene of New York City, took over the old Zumanity theater at — appropriately enough — the New York-New York resort in May. The show, described as a hybrid, is smaller in scope than traditional Strip productions, with live musicians performing pop music staples and comedians (including established names like Brad Williams) doing traditional stand-up routines. Vanderpump a ParisIt’s hard to ignore the success of Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, a photogenic lounge at Caesars Palace that always seems to have lines outside the host stand. So why not try it again? Vanderpump à Paris opened inside the Paris casino in early 2022 as the latest Las Vegas venture by British restaurateur and Bravo television personality Lisa Vanderpump. Expect to see an equally stylish cocktail spot, but with a Parisian flair that includes statues, awnings, and custom light fixtures. David BlaineThe Theatre at Resorts World was originally scheduled to open in 2021 with the debut of Celine Dion’s latest Las Vegas residency. However, the singer was forced to cancel shows due to muscle spasms. That leaves Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Katy Perry as the top headliners with residencies at the venue. Now, David Blaine is joining the lineup. The extreme illusionist debuts at the theater September 30, 2022. Electric PicklePickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Think of it as a casual combination of tennis, ping pong, and badminton. Now, it’s coming to The Bend, a new outdoor shopping and dining complex in the burgeoning southwest valley that may open in late 2023 (although, realistically, 2024 is more likely). Electric Pickle will cover three acres with nine pickleball courts and a two-story restaurant with a rooftop bar. There will also be a lawn for live music and courts for cornhole and bocce ball. The BedfordThe Bedford, a new restaurant by Martha Stewart, is coming to the Paris casino, replacing the shuttered Martorano’s. The writer and multimedia magnate built her reputation on entertaining, posh events and the culinary arts but has never actually put her name behind a restaurant before. That changes now with the Bedford, a relatively intimate space with less than 200 seats. Stewart’s own New York farmhouse inspires the decor, and the menu will be crafted with fresh ingredients by independent producers. GipsyGipsy is making a comeback in Las Vegas. The gay nightclub was a party spot in the ’80s in the Fruit Loop district east of the Strip, attracting celebrities and LGBTQ clientele in an era when coming out wasn’t widely accepted. Gipsy suffered setbacks, including fire and botched renovation on the TV show Bar Rescue before closing. It was demolished and a new version is planned for the now-empty lot. The owners want a “Pirates of the Caribbean” feel with an outdoor bar that resembles a carousel. The English HotelCelebrity chef Todd English has been busy in Las Vegas, recently opening The Beast at AREA15 and a revived version of Olives at Virgin Hotels. He’s now putting together his own boutique hotel in the Downtown Arts District with developer Z Life with 74 rooms, a pool, and the Pepper Club a seafood restaurant. Formula 1Palms
Boring Company People MoverLas Vegas Convention Center View Map Elon Musk’s The Boring Company has unveiled a futuristic “people mover” underneath the new Las Vegas Convention Center expansion. The project uses autonomous electric Tesla vehicles to transport attendees underground, cutting what would otherwise be a 15-minute walk down to a little over a minute. The vehicles have room for both standing and sitting and travel 35-40 miles-per-hour in a twin tunnel loop system. The transportation project also connects to Resorts World with at least 50 stations planned throughout the Strip and Downtown with an extension to the airport. MSG SphereGround was broken on MSG Sphere in late 2018 and the massive entertainment venue is now taking shape east of the Strip with an opening scheduled for 2023. The 500-foot-wide, 360-foot-tall spherical concert arena will have digital screens plastered on both the interior and exterior. MSG Sphere is moving concerts and other events into a new era with internet access at every seat and sound beamed individually to each spectator. Bleutech ParkAn all-digital city? It could happen right here in Las Vegas. Bleutech Park is an ambitious project that promises to combine retail and office space with housing and entertainment. The insular mini-city will be constructed with net-zero buildings, artificial intelligence, robotics, and renewable energy sources. The movement of humans could even be harnessed for electricity and heating services. Will it really work? The developers say it could take six years to complete with a price tag of $7.5 billion.
