bareMinerals Complexion Rescue

There is one HUGE claim on bareMinerals Complexion Rescue launching in April. Namely, to increase skin hydration by 215% in one week. I’m on day 3 with this product, so I will need to do an update in a few days, but for now, I can, hand on heart, say that my skin feels softer and fully hydrated. I was in a good skin place anyway following a product trial, but even with that under my belt, I can feel a difference.

However, while there is that claim of hydration, bareMinerals Complexion Rescue also promises the best of a CC, BB and Tinted Moisturiser, but it’s not really fully achieving that in levels of coverage. I’ve used it more as a primer – an undercoat before foundation, but it’s ideal for those days when you want a no makeup look (we all know that can’t actually be done with no makeup) and to just freshen the complexion.

The method is interesting – bareMinerals say that instead of the traditional emulsion formula method of using water on the inside and oil on the outside, they’ve done the opposite, and used a core of squalene surrounded by mineral infused water. In application, this product literally glides over your skin – a lovely sensation.

I’ve only got the press materials here, but I’d love to fully know the ingredients. I can tell you that it contains olive derived squaline, marine botanicals (could be anything, but most likely seaweed), calcium, potassium and magnesium and heart leaf globe daisy (who?). Added to that, it’s got an SPF of 30. Oh, and no oil.

I have a feeling that bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is going to be the hit of the summer, base-wise. I love the feel of the gel creme texture – all I need to do is see if it delivers on the extra hydration promise, but even if it didn’t, I’d still be an absolute fan. The moment it hits your skin, you know it’s something quite special.

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue will cost £26 (which I think is pretty reasonable) and hits stores in April.
