Kali ini saya akan mengulas perbandingan singkat antara dua kamera yang cukup favorit di kalangan fotografer yaitu kamera DSLR Canon EOS 700D dan kamera mirrorless Sony A6000. Kedua kamera ini sama-sama kamera modern sarat fitur dengan sensor gambar APS-C, menyasar segmen pemula menengah, juga harganya masih cukup terjangkau di kisaran 8-9 jutaan. Sebagai kamera DSLR, EOS 700D mengandalkan sistem cermin dan jendela bidik optik sedangkan Sony A6000 mewakili kubu mirrorless memberikan jendela bidik elektronik. Show  Canon EOS 700D Canon EOS 700D sudah menjadi DSLR pemula yang ‘matang’ baik secara teknologi maupun dukungan lensa. Kamera dengan bobot 580 gram ini punya fitur dasar sensor 18 MP, 9 titik AF, ISO 100-12800, tembak kontinu hingga 5 fps dan yang terpenting sudah bisa auto fokus hybrid bila dalam mode live view. Apalagi dengan sistem pengoperasian layar sentuh, kita bisa menyentuh area di layar untuk memilih fokusnya. Demikian juga saat merekam video, kamera akan mengikuti fokus sesuai area yang kita sentuh, akan lebih mantap lagi bila lensa yang dipasang adalah jenis STM (Stepper motor). Layar LCD di EOS 700D juga bisa dilipat ke samping dan diputar untuk kebebasan menentukan angle kreatif. Kekurangan minor dari EOS 700D menurut saya adalah hanya ada satu roda kendali untuk berganti setting, padahal idealnya ada dua roda untuk mengganti setting dengan cepat. Di lain pihak, Sony A6000 justru menang di megapiksel, artinya lebih banyak detail yang bisa tertangkap (24 MP, atau 6 MP lebih banyak dari 700D). Sony A6000 juga sering disebut ‘pengganti DSLR’ karena implementasi hybrid AF yang sukses (baik untuk foto maupun video), dengan 179 titik fokus pendeteksi fasa yang jitu dan cepat, dikombinasikan dengan kecepatan tembak 11 fps dan bonusnya adalah jendela bidik elektronik yang berkualitas baik. Untuk yang suka memasang flash eksternal juga tidak perlu kuatir karena ada flash hot shoe di A6000. Bodi kamera A6000 memang ramping (karena tidak memakai cermin) tapi tetap ergonomis, dengan grip yang besar, ada dua roda kendali dan tombol yang bisa dikusomisasi. Layar LCD di kamera berbobot 285 gram ini hanya bisa dilipat menghadap atas atau bawah saja, tidak bisa diputar seperti EOS 700D, dan juga tidak memakai sistem layar sentuh. Sony A6000 Kedua kamera ini sudah mumpuni baik untuk memotret maupun merekam video, mampu memberi hasil foto yang berkualitas baik, banyak fitur-fitur modern dan harganya tidak terlalu mahal.Sebagai kamera DSLR, Canon 700D tentu menang dalam dukungan aksesori dan lensa, termasuk lensa-lensa buatan pihak ketiga. Bagi yang menyukai melihat jendela bidik optik juga tentu akan lebih nyaman memakai DSLR seperti EOS 700D. Sedangkan Sony A6000 berhasil mengalahkan banyak kamera DSLR dalam hal spesifikasi dasar (seperti kecepatan tembak 11 fps) dan mengalahkan kamera mirrorless sejenis dengan kemampuan auto fokusnya yang setara DSLR. Pilihan lensa Sony E-mount memang masih sedikit dan harganya juga lebih tinggi, tapi di kamera A6000 ada opsi untuk bisa memotret ‘tanpa lensa’ di mode manual, yang artinya kita bisa pasang lensa lain dengan adapter (biasanya orang akan memasang lensa-lensa lawas dan dioperasikan dengan manual fokus). Urusan baterai adalah titik lemah A6000 (dan semua kamera mirrorless) karena selalu mengandalkan live view sehingga menguras baterai. Jadi dalam hal ini tidak bisa dibilang siapa yang menang karena masing-masing punya segmen dan plus minus yang berbeda. The Canon EOS 700D (called Canon T5i in some regions) and the Sony Alpha A6000 are two digital cameras that were revealed to the public, respectively, in March 2013 and February 2014. The 700D is a DSLR, while the A6000 is a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Both cameras are equipped with an APS-C sensor. The Canon has a resolution of 17.9 megapixels, whereas the Sony provides 24 MP. Below is an overview of the main specs of the two cameras as a starting point for the comparison. Going beyond this snapshot of core features and characteristics, what are the differences between the Canon EOS 700D and the Sony Alpha A6000? Which one should you buy? Concerning battery life, the 700D gets 440 shots out of its Canon LP-E8 battery, while the A6000 can take 360 images on a single charge of its Sony NP-FW50 power pack. The power pack in the A6000 can be charged via the USB port, which can be very convenient when travelling. Sensor comparisonThe imaging sensor is at the core of digital cameras and its size is one of the main determining factors of image quality. A large sensor will tend to have larger individual pixels that provide better low-light sensitivity, wider , and richer than smaller pixel-units in a sensor of the same technological generation. Furthermore, a large sensor camera will give the photographer more possibilities to use shallow in order to isolate a subject from the background. On the downside, larger sensors tend to be more expensive and lead to bigger and heavier cameras and lenses. Both cameras under consideration feature an APS-C sensor, but their sensors differ slightly in size. The sensor area in the A6000 is 11 percent bigger. As a result of these sensor size differences, the cameras have format factors, respectively, of 1.6 (700D) and 1.5. Both cameras have a native aspect ratio (sensor width to sensor height) of 3:2. With 24MP, the A6000 offers a higher resolution than the 700D (17.9MP), but the A6000 has smaller individual pixels ( of 3.91μm versus 4.31μm for the 700D). The maximum print size of the A6000 for good quality output (200 dots per inch) amounts to 30 x 20 inches or 76.2 x 50.8 cm, for very good quality (250 dpi) 24 x 16 inches or 61 x 40.6 cm, and for excellent quality (300 dpi) 20 x 13.3 inches or 50.8 x 33.9 cm. The corresponding values for the Canon 700D are 25.9 x 17.3 inches or 65.8 x 43.9 cm for good quality, 20.7 x 13.8 inches or 52.7 x 35.1 cm for very good quality, and 17.3 x 11.5 inches or 43.9 x 29.3 cm for excellent quality prints. The Canon EOS 700D has a native sensitivity range from ISO 100 to ISO 12800, which can be extended to ISO 100-25600. The corresponding ISO settings for the Sony Alpha A6000 are ISO 100 to ISO 25600, with the possibility to increase the ISO range to 100-51200. Technology-wise, both cameras are equipped with CMOS (Complementary Metal–Oxide–Semiconductor) sensors. Both cameras use a Bayer filter for capturing RGB colors on a square grid of photosensors. This arrangement is found in most digital cameras. Since 2007, DXO Mark has published sensor performance measurements that have been derived using a consistent methodology. This service assesses and scores the color depth ("DXO Portrait"), dynamic range ("DXO Landscape"), and low-light sensitivity ("DXO Sports") of camera sensors, and also publishes an overall camera score. Of the two cameras under consideration, the A6000 offers substantially better image quality than the 700D (overall score 21 points higher). The advantage is based on 2.4 bits higher color depth, 1.9 EV in additional dynamic range, and 1 stops in additional low light sensitivity. Many modern cameras are not only capable of taking still images, but can also record movies. Both cameras under consideration are equipped with sensors that have a sufficiently high read-out speed for moving images, but the A6000 provides a faster frame rate than the 700D. It can shoot movie footage at 1080/60p, while the Canon is limited to 1080/30p.
Feature comparisonBeyond body and sensor, cameras can and do differ across a range of features. For example, the A6000 has an electronic viewfinder (1440k dots), while the 700D has an optical one. Both systems have their advantages, with the electronic viewfinder making it possible to project supplementary shooting information into the framing view, whereas the optical viewfinder offers lag-free viewing and a very clear framing image. The viewfinder in the A6000 offers a wider field of view (100%) than the one in the 700D (95%), so that a larger proportion of the captured image is visible in the finder. It is notable that the 700D has a microphone port, which is missing on the A6000. Such an external microphone input can help to substantially improve the quality of audio recordings when a good external microphone is used. Both the 700D and the A6000 have been discontinued, but can regularly be found used on ebay. The 700D was replaced by the Canon 750D, while the A6000 was followed by the Sony A6300.
