I just had an unusual incident on a reinstall of FSX on a pristine windows 7/64 system/all updates current/no AV involved/literally no 3rd party software installed except a default FSX. Using the PMDG suggestions for uninstall and reinstall, I cleaned out FSX and reinstalled it. Done this before with no issues concerning discs or the DVD drive. I created a new folder on the C drive to install FSX into (C:\FSX). I made the proper change to direct the installation and disc 1 went in flawlessly. When disc 2 was called for I put it in the drive and the drive wouldn't load it and run it. I tried several times but no success. Finally I deleted disc 1 from the install folder and started again. This time everything went normally and disc 2 came right up and installed. Has anyone run into this issue. Note that I researched and read NERO might have issues with FSX. The only burn software I'm showing as installed in Nero 8 which I believe came with Windows as I've installed nothing new on the machine. I'd like to get a handle on what might have caused this if anyone has had a like experience. Thanks much Dudley Henriques Thanks Peter; I'm amazed that MS allows us to copy the disc files onto a desktop!! I guess it has something to do with being on the same computer? I take you you simply open the disc to view files then copy them all into a desktop folder, a folder for each disc. Then you have to find the setup.exe in each folder and run each folder by using the setups? DH |
