All rights reserved. I got a Viltrox speedbooster, and the edge of the frame is a disaster on both my M50 and M3. Anything not in the center square of a 3x3 box is a blurry mess. Trying to AF outside of that center box results in AF misses. I bought a new 85mm 1.4 to use with it and almost sent the lens back until I tried the lens without the booster on a 5D and it was so sharp. When people said that you'd experience some softness with the speedbooster, I think they undersold how detrimental the image quality hit is. I wonder if it's because of the smaller aperture on the zoom lens? Or is it because of the lens design of the 85mm 1.4? I plan only doing 1080p, which is only 4Mp, so IQ is the least of my worries.
