Minna no Nihongo is a Japanese language books series featuring textbooks and workbooks published by Three A Network and is one of the series recommend to study for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test).

The series is divided in two levels : Shokyu (Beginner) and Chukyu (Intermediate) while each level itself is divided in two levels : Shokyu 1 & 2 and Chukyu 1 & 2.

Learn Japanese in four steps

Minna no Nihongo books are divided in four levels: Shokyu 1, Shokyu 2, Chukyu 1, and Chukyu 2. If Shokyu 1 and 2 are for beginners, Chukyu 1 and 2 are made for intermediate students.

Shokyu 1: Beginner Japanese

Shokyu 1 textbook and workbooks are essential for beginners who have studied Japanese for less than 100 hours. We recommend learning hiragana and katakana before starting to use these books, because there are no explanations on how you should read kana. Shokyu 2: Elementary Japanese

Shokyu 2 textbook and workbooks are for beginners who have finished “Shokyu 1” or have already studied Japanese for 100 to 150 hours. Although this complete set is aimed at beginners, you must be familiar with hiragana and katakana to get the most of it. Chukyu 1: Lower Intermediate Japanese

The intermediates series Minna no Nihongo Chukyu is aimed at those learners at the upper beginner or lower intermediate level who want to cultivate their talking, listening reading and writing skills in a practical manner.

Chukyu 2: Intermediate Japanese

Chukyu 2 is the last level of the Minna no Nihongo series. It is reserved for people wishing to reach an intermediate level, equivalent to the N2 of the official Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

The texts in these book cover a wide variety of topics in various formats. The reading materials are informational notices, letters, interviews, quizzes and surveys. Listening Tasks

Chokai Tasuku 25

These books contain listening comprehension exercises related to the main topics of study in Minna no Nihongo Shokyu. With these workbooks, the user is directly involved in dialogues and stories.
