OP, there are a few good comments in this thread that highlight the "big differences". I would mark a few as "answers", but can only mark one. Essentially, the biggest differences are going to be: -- Prices/how the companies make their money. Gaijin tends to be cheaper, and while some argue invasive, as others have pointed out, there is no gold ammo/consumables, etc. -- The damage models versus health bars. (Loosely translates to a game trying to work towards realistic modeling, and a game that is OK with being an arcade shooter) -- The play style. WG, last I remember, very heavily favors the arcade playstyle and game mechanics, overlays, etc. WT is much more focused on a realistic playstyle. ... Among others. The above is based on my memory of WG's games/products. With where this thread seems to be going.... I think it is time for a close. If you want it scrubbed and opened for further discussion, shoot me a PM. If you like tanks with horrible maps and hit points, WoT. If you like tanks with horrible maps with combined arms aspects and realistic damage models that can range from "wtf, why did that bounce" to "one shot, one kill," War Thunder.  Don't forget that you can be killed by planes. (so much fun, when the bombers kill you multiple times at spawpoint... no). Lately it seems like wot has gone off the rails, and it's more of an arcade based game, so, I would (personally) go with war thunder. It can get pretty frustrating at times, but once in awhile you can find a tank that fits your play style and end up having a lot of fun. I played wot to, but it kinda dropped off cuz of large downloads and a bunch of my tanks got removed from the tech trees. War thunder is a bit more fun but is really slow sometimes you have to pay for prems or buy vehicles for better research points/money and crew trainers. Played both for a long time.
