Safe Streaming as You Drive

Listening and singing along to your favorite music while on a drive is entertaining and can help make longer journeys feel shorter. But searching through tracks while at the wheel can reduce how much youre focused on the road. Spotifys Car View mode is designed to help keep you focused while you enjoy your music.

Car View is available on iOS and Android devices. Once your device is Bluetooth enabled and successfully paired with your car, Car View will work its magic. It detects your Bluetooth then automatically changes your display interface to a simpler design for easier use as you drive.

Spotify automatically playing every time I start the car

So I've searched for threads and not finding a solution. It is driving me nuts. I have my C450 set to sync to my phone via Bluetooth so I can play music when I want and waze when needed. What I don't want is to automatically have Spotify play the last song I was listening to every time I start the car (even when the app is closed). Anyone know the solution other than switch to radio instead of media?

Thanks

Have you tried shutting the phone off and then turning it back on again after it's connected? You could also try rebooting the Comand system. This is done by holding in the CD eject button for a few seconds. The screen will go blank, then will restart. No data will be lost.

I have the same issue. Angered me to the point of deleting the Spotify app as I deduced to their software causing the problem. Pandora and iTunes music do just fine.

What you complain about, I'd actually like to happen. How does Spotify launch on its own?!?

Try toggling background app refresh off (IOS) Settings, scroll down to app.

Not sure it'll help but worth a shot.

So the car's BT is looking for the last track it played before it was suspended by shutting down the car, and that happens to be Spotify.

There's an app, EQu for Spotify, by Elephant Candy. It's primarily an equalizer that becomes your Spotify player. I'm wondering if having that 3rd party app in the signal chain might flummox the car's BT enough to prevent the automatic launch. (Also it's a great way to get much better sound out of the car's audio system). On the App Store for a couple of bucks.

Have EQu for Spotify on my phone as welland that doesn't stop it either. None of the solutions offered work. While it is sometimes nice to have it auto start, I don't always necessarily want to pick up where I last left off especially when my wife and son are in the car with me and we don't want music on. For some reason it insists on looking for any media to auto start once it connects the bluetooth to my phone and recognizes it is in Media mode.

Just annoying.

I have Audio 20 and having same issues. I can have Pandora playing, turn the car off, leave it for a few hours, come back to restart car and Spotify will trump Pandora. There will be a ghost icon on my iPhone lock screen that shows Spotify wanting to start. And it will not play any music until I go into the app on my phone and hit play. Deleted Spotify and have no issues now. If I leave the car playing iTunes music, iTunes music will start right up and vice versa for Pandora.

For me it activates whatever the last music app I had going. I can see what it will activate here. If I have nothing there it picks the Apple Music app

My car has no issues seeing and pickingup EQU and also starts where i left off if the App is left open on the phone.. I always have it going through the USB inout (mainly to charge whilst its there ) as opposed wirelss BT.. unclear if that woudl impact it..

Summary, EQu works fine as a source etc..
