Topic 1: The means of transport you like most.

If I have to decide which mean of transport I like most, it’ll be a car. Nowadays it is really necessary for me and my family.

• Firstly, it is safer to drive a car than to ride a motorbike because in a car there are air bags, seat belts, car alarm, etc, that pvent us from being injured if you have an accident. Driving a car at night on a lonely road will safer than riding a motorbike.
• Secondly, you never have to think about the weather (such a rain, sun, storm, and dark at night) when you drive. A car has air-conditioner which helps you to avoid getting wet, dust… so it help to keep you healthy.
• In the third place, a car is comfortable and fast. You can ptty much travel wherever you want whenever you want within your local area, without having to worry about the departure times and delays of the public transport system.
• Furthermore, you will feel comfortable and relaxed with the CD and DVD machines on the car. You can listen music and you have pleasure of driving. When you are tired, you can stop the journey and rest.
• Finally, if you have just the one car between you and your family, it can be possible to share the vehicle between all of the family members thus providing everyone with a mode of transport at all times.

• Then, I come back home for a nap. In the afternoon, I often go swimming with my neighbor if the weather is hot. In winter I go jogging in the central park instead. I usually have dinner with my family during weekend, so we can talk with each other and share our stories. After dinner, I sometime listen to music or surf the net to chat with friends or check emails. I usually do not go to bed late because I will have lots of work on Monday.

People may have different hobbies such as listening to music, watching T.V, dancing. playing games or collecting things. My hobby is to read books.

• I enjoy reading many types of books, but my favorite is detective. I like reading stories about Sherlock Holmes of author Conan Doyle. I often read books in the evening after I finish pparing things for the next day’s work.
• When I have free time, I often go to bookstores to look for new books. Once a week, I go to the city library to read there. I sometimes read books on line if I cannot get hard copies of the books I want.
• Books help me relax a lot after days of hard work. Thanks to books, I can broaden my knowledge and learn new things.

Among many programs and channels available on TV these days such as the current news programs, sport programs, entertaining programs, educational programs and movie programs, etc, I like the program “the World of Animals” most.

This program is usually shown on VTV2 everyday at 8.30 in the evening. It often lasts about 45 minutes. In this program, stories of the life of many animals in the world are told in a very lively way. For example, people can watch films about monkeys, snakes, tigers, insects, birds, sea turtles, sharks etc and even the penguins and the polar bears in the far North. While watching these films, I find the everyday life activities and habits of these animals very interesting and full mysteries. In addition, I also learn that it is very important to protect these animals and their living environments because they are part of our valuable natural world. Watching this program makes me very well informed and relaxed after a day of work.

Topic 12: Talk about your favorite sport.

These days, people are practicing many types of sport such as swimming, running, cycling, aerobics, tennis, table tennis, badminton, golf and football, etc. My favorite sport is jogging. Jogging is a simple sport to practice because you don’t need any special or expensive equipment like other sports. In fact you just need a good pair of trainers for your self . The most suitable place for jogging is a park or somewhere around a lake near your house. You can also jog on a field or in the forest if you are living in the countryside. For me, I jog for about an hour in the afternoon everyday after work. I usually go jogging alone, but if possible you can ask my family members, friends or neighbors to go with me. While we jog, we often talk and share with each other about everyday life stories, so we feel that we can reduce our stress. After going jogging each day, I feel that I am more relaxed and fit again after a long day of work.

I have had many friends so far, but Thanh Nga is one of my close friends. Nga is about 30 years old and is now working a researcher at an institute in Hanoi. We met each other when we were in the secondary school. During those days, we went to school together everyday, studied in the same class and shared with each other all the joys and sorrow, so we have become close friends since then.

My friend Nga is not very tall, but ptty with long black hair and a nice smile. She is a very sincere, modest and helpful person. She likes painting and painted many pictures. Also, I can still remember that Nga was very good at literature and foreign languages.

We often meet each other when we have time. When we are very busy, we often talk to each other on the phone or we chat on the Internet. Whenever we meet, we often go to see other friends, go shopping or sit in a quite place to have coffee. We talk about our life and share with each other our good news or problems and see if we can help each other. Nga is really a good friend of mine, a friend for life.

I live in a house in Hanoi. The house is in a small and quiet street in Cau Giay district of Hanoi. It takes about half an hour to go to the city center. The house was built 5 years ago. It isn’t a big house and has two floors.

In my house there are 4 main rooms: a living room, a dining rooms, two bedrooms. Besides, we have a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.

We have a little but ptty garden; my family often spend our free time there to grow plant and vegetables. Next to the garden there is a small yard where my children often play after school.

In my house, I like the living room is my favorite one. This room was painted light green, so we feel very pleasant. In this room, there is a tea table, a sofa and a television. On the wall there is a couple of oil paintings. After dinner, our family often spend time together talking to each other or watching a favorite TV program. We often receive our guests in this room. I love my house. Everyday when I come back home from work, I have a warm feeling of being together with my whole family.

I am now working as a senior engineer in a company in Hanoi. My company name is ABC Company. I have had this job for more than 10 years. In my job, I am in charge of managing our department’s activities such as research development, technical supervision and maintenance, etc. Besides, we also need to corporate our work with other departments in the company in order to run the company’s business smoothly.

To do this job besides my university degree, I have had many training classes in project management, product development, marketing, etc…

Some people may think cooking is just a daily to make meals. But for me, cooking is a hobby -the best hobby I have. I always cook after finding out the importances of cooking. Secodly,City life provides us all sorts of entertainment: movies, theaters, amusement park, bars,… so it helps us relax after hard working. Finally, education in here is very good. We can be improved our knowledge by going to schools, universities or extra classes. It’s easy for young people hace many chance to have a well-paid job.

Besides the benefits it city life also has some drawbacks. Firstly, cities are polluted and noisy because there’re many vehicles and factories here, environtment is polluted by dust of means of transports and waste of factories. Secondly, citizen are unfriendly. They are always hurry, that means people have no time to know each other and make friends. Finally, there aren’t enough playground for children to take part in outdoors activities so they spend their freetime using computer and forget everythingis happening.

In short, I think the city life suitable for young people

Tet is one of the most important festival in VietNam. It’s held every year at the end of January or early February. Some weeks before Tet, Vietnamese clean their houses and paint their wall. They buy peach blossoms. Kumquat, flowers to decorate their houses. New clothes are bought on the occasion. One or two days before Tet, people make Chung cake – the traditional food, sticky rice, spring rolls and other spcial food.

The rubbish is not good for health and environment. We should reduce the rubbish in the activities daily.

Firstly, we need to reuse things such as: we use the bottles of milk, juice, mineral water to fill up water. If we don’t fit up the clothes, we can give for younger sister or younger brother,…

Secondly, we can recycle the cans to make school things. We also recycle the paper boards to make useful things.

Thirdly, we open a book festival. We swap books, stories, magazines, newspapers with each other.

Finally, we use the reusable things such as: paper bags, reusable bags. So we do not need use plastic bags.

So we can protect the environment with some little actions. I think people can do it to have a better life.

Câu phủ định và nghi vấn ta phải mượn trợ động từ did

– Diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra trong quá khứ và chấm dứt hẳn trong QK

Cách dùng:

– Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra trong quá khứ tại 1 thời điểm xác định cụ thể.

– Diễn tả hai hay nhiều hành động cùng xảy ra trong quá khứ. (While)

– Diễn tả một hành động xảy ra thì một hành động khác đến cắt ngang.(When)

a. Lý thuyết.

– Một câu điều kiện thường có hai mệnh đề là mệnh đề chính và mệnh đề phụ (If). Mệnh đề phụ (If) có thể đặt trước hoặc sau mệnh đề chính.

Eg: + John usually walks to school if he has enough time.

+ If she eats much, she will be overweight.

: điều kiện không có thật ở hiện tại.

* Note: Tobe dùng Were cho tất cả các ngôi (trong Mệnh đề If)

* eg: If I had much money, I would buy a new bicycle.

Eg: Unless it rains, we will go to the movies. = (If it does not rain, we will go to the movies)

– Động từ Wish = If only(ao ước) thường dùng để diễn tả những ước muốn, những điều không có thật hoặc rất khó thực hiện.

– Có 2 loại câu ước.

1. Future wish: (ước muốn ở tương lai) If only + S + would/ could + V(inf) + O

* eg:- I wish I would be an astronaut in the future.

– Tom wishes he could visit Paris next summer.

– If only I would take the trip with you next Sunday.

2. Present wish (ước muốn ở hiện tại) Were + adj / n

* Note: Tobe dùng Were cho tất cả các ngôi

* eg:- I wish I were rich (but I am poor now)

– I can’t swim. I wish I could swim.

– Quan sát:

+ Câu chủ động: Mr Smith teaches (Active)

+ Câu bị động: English is taught by Mr Smith. (Passive)

– Qui tắc:

+ Tân ngữ chủ động ( chủ ngữ bị động

+ Động từ bị động Be + Past Participle (pp)

+ Chủ ngữ chủ động ( tân ngữ bị động (trước có giới từ bychỉ tác nhân)

Bảng tóm tắt công thức các thì trong câu bị động. Cách đổi:

Bước 1: Lấy Tân ngữ (O) câu chủ động xuống làm Chủ từ (S)câu bị động.

Bước 2: a/ Lưu ý Động từ câu chủ động ở thì nào To Be ở ngay thì đó.

b/ Động từ chính đổi sang dạng PP (QK phân từ)

Bước 3: Lấy Chủ từ (S)câu chủ động xuống làm Tân ngữ (O)câu bị động đặt sau By chỉ tác nhân.

* eg: I learn English everyday.(Active)

* Cách đổi câu trực tiếp sang câu gián tiếp:

– Ngôi thứ nhất: (I, we, me, mine, us, our) được đổi sang ngôi thứ ba (He, She, It, They, him/her, his/ hers, its, their, them) phù hợp.

( Jane said that lived in the suburbs.

– Ngôi thứ hai (You, your, yours) được đổi theo ngôi của tân ngữ trong mệnh đề tường thuật.

– Ngôi thứ ba (He, She, It, They, him, his, her,them,their) giữ nguyên(không đổi).

* eg: Mary says,” come to help the pupils.”

( Mary said that came to help the pupils.

* eg: – “I’m going now“. He said

( He said he was going then.

– She said ” I was at Hue yesterday“.

( She said that she had been at Hue the day before.

* eg:- He said,”Put the books here“

( He told me to put the books there.

– Tom said to me,” I’ll meet you this Friday”

GT:S + asked/wondered + (O) + wh – qs + S + V(lùi 1 bậc về QK) + O.

: TT: S + tell/ told + ” wh- qs + (do/was/will)… + S + V + O?”

* eg: – “What time does the film begin?.” He asked

( He asked what time the film began.

– “What will you do tomorrow?” She asked

( She asked what I would do the next day.

* Công thức: GT: S + said (that) + S + V (lùi 1 bậc về QK)

* eg “I’ll pay him if I can”

She said that she would pay him if she could.

I. To – infinitive.

Sử dụng trong các trường hợp sau:

– sau các động từ: want, intend, decide, expect, hope, mean, offer, promise, refuse, wish,….

– sau các tính từ: glad, happy, ready, kind,….

– sau các phó từ: enough, too,

– trong cấu trúc: – It + take + O + (time) + to-inf

* Eg: I want to buy a new house.

I’m glad to pass the exam.

II. Bare infinitive.

Sử dụng trong các trường hợp sau:

– sau Model Verbs như: can, may, must, will, shall, would, should, would rather, had better,….

– trong cấu trúc với V là: make, let, have

– trong cấu trúc với V là động từ tri giác: see, hear, notice, feel,.

III. Verb- ing.

* Eg: I can speak English very well.

Sử dụng trong các trường hợp sau:

– sau một số động từ như: avoid, dislike, enjoy, finish,keep, mind, practise, stop….

– sau các Phrasal verbs: to be used to, to get accustomed, to look forward to, to have a good time/difficulty, to be busy, to be worth,…

– trong cấu trúc với V là động từ tri giác biểu đạt hành động đang tiếp diễn

– trong cấu trúc: would you mind …

– sau các giới từ như: about, of, with, without,…

Alice is fond of dancing.

A complex sentence (câu phức) bao gồm 1 mệnh đề chính (independent clause) và 1 hay nhiều mệnh đề phụ (dependent clause) (nhưng thường là 1 mệnh đề phụ). Hai mệnh đề thường được nối với nhau bởi dấu phẩy hoặc các liên từ phụ thuộc.

Ví dụ: While he waited at the train station, Joe realized that the train was late.

(Trong khi chờ ở ga tàu, Joe nhận ra tàu đã bị trễ)

– Mệnh đề chính tức là mệnh đề không phụ thuộc có nghĩa là dù nó có tách ra làm 1 câu đơn thì nó vẫn có nghĩa.

– Trái ngược với nó là mệnh đề phụ, tức là mệnh đề này bắt buộc phải đi kèm với mệnh đề chính thì mới có nghĩa

– Thông thường liên từ phụ thuộc sẽ nằm ở mệnh đề phụ.

Ví dụ:

– When I came, they were watching TV. (Khi tôi đến, họ đang xem TV.)

when: liên từ phụ thuộc

when I came: mệnh đề phụ

they were watching TV: mệnh đề chính.

– We’ll go out if the rain stops. (Chúng tôi sẽ ra ngoài nếu trời ngừng mưa)

if the rain stops: mệnh đề phụ

We’ll go out: mệnh đề chính

1. Mệnh đề phụ chỉ mục đích thường bắt đầu với liên từ so that hoặc in order that. Nó chỉ mục đích của hành động trong mệnh đề chính

Ví dụ: The artisan moulded the clay so that he could make a mask.

2. Mệnh đề phụ chỉ lý do bắt đầu với liên từ because, since hoặc as. Nó trả lời cho câu hỏi why?

Ví dụ: Since it was raining, they cancelled the trip to Trang An.

(Bởi vì trời đang mưa nên họ hoãn chuyến đi đến Tràng An)

3. Mệnh đề phụ chỉ thời gian bắt đầu với liên từ when, while, before, after, as soon as, whenever etc. nói về khi những hành động được miêu tả trong mệnh đề chính được đặt thời gian.

Ví dụ: When I have free time, I usually go to the museum.

(Khi tôi có thời gian rảnh, tôi thường đến thăm bảo tàng)

Unless, until, whereas, where, wherever…

Even if,even though, if, incase

Sử dụng “used to do” để nói về những thói quen hoặc những hành động thường làm trong quá khứ mà không còn ở hiện tại nữa.

– Chú ý: “used to do something” được sử dụng để thể hiện hành động đã hoàn thành trong quá khứ cái mà không còn diễn ra ở hiện tại. Đây là cấu trúc chỉ được sử dụng trong thì quá khứ.

Ví dụ: I used to get up early in the morning when I was a student. (But I don’t get up early now)

easy, difficult, hard, impossible, important, interesting, necessary, …

It is necessary for you to know another language. (Biết thêm một ngôn ngữ nữa là điều cần thiết.)

A. Về nội dung các phần bài viết

1. Mở bài: HS biết tạo tình huống gặp gỡ với nhân vật ông Hai (thời gian, không gian, địa điểm, nhân vật.) một cách hợp lí, hấp dẫn.

2. Thân bài

Trò chuyện về hoàn cảnh khiến ông Hai phải đi tản cư; niềm hãnh diện, tự hào, nỗi nhớ làng da diết và sự quan tâm đến cuộc kháng chiến của ông Hai khi ở nơi tản cư.

Trò chuyện để thấy được diễn biến tâm trạng của ông Hai khi nghe tin làng Chợ Dầu theo giặc từ đó bộc lộ rõ tình yêu làng sâu sắc hòa quyện thống nhất với tình yêu nước của ông Hai:

• Từ sự bàng hoàng sững sờ khi mới nghe tin đến cảm giác xấu hổ, lo lắng, buồn bã, chán nản rồi trở thành nỗi ám ảnh thường xuyên nặng nề khiến ông Hai vô cùng đau đớn khổ sở.
• Tiếp theo là tình thế bế tắc, tuyệt vọng của ông khi bị đuổi đi, sự đấu tranh nội tâm của ông giữa đi nơi khác hay trở về làng qua đó làm rõ được tình yêu nước rộng lớn, bao trùm lên tình yêu làng quê của ông Hai.
• Lời tâm sự của ông Hai với đứa con út thể hiện tấm lòng thủy chung son sát của ông với cách mạng, với kháng chiến.
• Trò chuyện để thấy được tâm trạng vui sướng vô bờ của ông Hai khi tin làng theo giặc được cải chính.

Chú ý: Hình thức của bài văn là một cuộc trò chuyện nên lời đối thoại phải tự nhiên, linh hoạt, không gượng ép; văn phong trong sáng, giàu tính biểu cảm; sử dụng kết hợp các hình thức đối thoại, độc thoại và độc thoại nội tâm để khắc họa rõ nét diễn biến tâm trạng của nhân vật…

3. Kết bài: Ấn tượng, cảm xúc và suy nghĩ của bản thân sau cuộc trò chuyện.

B. Về hình thức

HS viết một bài văn với đủ ba phần, các ý trong thân bài sắp xếp hợp lí, chữ viết rõ ràng, có thể mắc một số ít lỗi chính tả.

A. Mở bài:

– Giới thiệu tác giả Kim Lân, truyện ngắn Làng.

– Giới thiệu khái quát nhân vật ông Hai.

B. Thân bài 1. Khái quát:

– Truyện ngắn Làng biểu hiện một tình cảm cao đẹp của người nông dân thời đại cách mạng: tình yêu làng xóm, quê hương đã hoà nhập trong tình yêu nước, tinh thần kháng chiến. Tình cảm đó vừa có tính truyền thống vừa có chuyển biến mới.

– Thành công của Kim Lân là đã diễn tả tình cảm, tâm lí chung ấy trong sự thể hiện sinh động và độc đáo ở nhân vật ông Hai.

2. Cảm nhận về nhân vật ông Hai:

* Hoàn cảnh của ông Hai: rất yêu làng, tự hào, hay khoe về làng nhưng lại phải xa làng để đi tản cư.

* Tình yêu làng của ông Hai bị đặt vào một tình huống gay cấn, đầy thử thách: tin làng Chợ Dầu theo giặc, phản bội lại cách mạng, kháng chiến:

– Khi mới nghe tin làng Chợ Dầu theo giặc: ông bàng hoàng, sững sờ, không tin (dẫn chứng).

– Khi tin ấy được khẳng định chắc chắn, ông xấu hổ, tủi nhục, cứ cúi gầm mà đi.

– Những ngày ở nhà:

+ Ông đau đớn, tủi thân, bán tín bán nghi (dẫn chứng). Ông lo sợ vì tuyệt đường sinh sống, thương thân mình và dân làng Chợ Dầu phải mang tiếng là dân làng Việt gian (dẫn chứng).

+ Bị đẩy vào đường cùng, tâm trạng ông vô cùng bế tắc. Ông chớm nghĩ quay về làng nhưng lập tức ông phản đối ngay. Tình yêu làng của ông Hai gắn liền với tình yêu đất nước, kháng chiến.

+ Trong những ngày buồn khổ ấy, ông chỉ biết tâm sự với đứa con để củng cố niềm tin vào cách mạng, vào kháng chiến (dẫn chứng). Điều đó thể hiện tình cảm, lòng trung thành của ông với cách mạng, với kháng chiến, với Cụ Hồ.

– Khi tin dữ được cải chính: ông Hai tột cùng vui sướng và càng tự hào về làng chợ Dầu (dẫn chứng).

3. Đánh giá về nghệ thuật:

– Tình huống truyện đặc sắc giúp nhân vật bộc lộ chiều sâu tâm trạng.

– Nhà văn đã thành công trong việc miêu tả tâm lí nhân vật bằng nhiều thủ pháp nghệ thuật khác nhau: lúc trực tiếp bằng bút pháp độc thoại, độc thoại nội tâm, lúc gián tiếp qua nét mặt, giọng nói.

– Ngôn ngữ nhân vật mang đậm chất khẩu ngữ, sinh động, giàu giá trị biểu cảm.

C. Kết bài:

Bằng nghệ thuật xây dựng nhân vật đặc sắc, nhà văn đã khắc họa thành công tình yêu làng, yêu nước, tinh thần kháng chiến, một lòng thủy chung với cách mạng của ông Hai.

Now I would like to tell you about my local community. I live in An Thanh Village. It is not a very rich neighborhood, so there are a lot of poor people who need to be helped. Their life is so pity, so their children can’t go to school. My friends and I have made a plan to raise money for those poor people. We are collecting old clothes for them, too. Besides, we also give lessons to the poor children 3 times a week and at weekend. We hope to help them overcome such hard periods and they will be able to have a better life in the future. Hi! Everybody. What kinds of foods do you like? My favourite food is Pho. Pho is the most popular food among the population and it plays an importance thing in the spirit of Vietnamese people, especially the people who live in Ha Noi. Anyone feels hungry in a short time in the morning can also enjoy a bowl of hot and spicy Pho to fill their empty stomach. Have many Pho but there are two main kind of Pho: Pho with beef and Pho with chicken. The ingredients of Pho are rice noodles and broth which is generally made by simmering bones, fried steak charred onion and spices, it takes several hours to ppare. When people eat Pho they can add some kind of thing such as chilli, pepper,…I love Pho very much so I can eat it everyday without boring. I’m sure that you do it, too. Now I would like to talk about Long Tuyen village.

This is an old village in the south of Can Tho City, including Binh Thuy, An Thoi, Long Tuyen and Long Hoa . The village is a destination that attracts many tourists not only because of its beautifully natural scenery, but also the cultural relics that remains after hundreds of years. The architecture and culture in Long Tuyen is very unique because it is the combination of various cultures from Western to Eastern, including Chinese, French, American, Cham and Japanese. This place also possesses six of 18 national relics in Can Tho, including famous locations such as Binh Thuy Temple, Nam Nha Pagoda or Binh Thuy Old House. Moreover, the Ky Yen Festival takes place here. It can be said that Long Tuy village is a rare destination that contains various typical characteristics of the culture in this region, and for sure it is a pity if you miss this destination in your travel.
